Branch Dinner: Immigration
Thursday September 11th
Welcome Back!!!
This year’s program offering promises to be exciting, insightful and provocative with current and timely topics.
- Did you know that we have 11 million people working and living in the shadows?
- Were you moved by the news coverage witnessing thousands of children seeking freedom and asylum?
- Do you want to understand how we can build a better future for all those coming to our shores seeking freedom?
These questions and more we all bring to this topic.
Our guest speaker, Walter H. Ruehle has practiced Immigration law for over three decades in three law offices that provide legal representation to the poor. Currently, he is the Director of Immigration Program of the Legal Aid Society of Rochester. He is also the Director of Upstate New York Immigration Law Program of legal offices in Syracuse and Albany.
You don’t want to miss this! Bring a friend and join us for networking, dinner and program!
Special thanks to our program committee members, Dr. Betty Baer, Barbara Bayer, Nita Brown, Helen Cheves, Marlene Gordon, Cynthia Herriot and Cheryl McKeiver.
“If you hear the dogs, keep going. If you see the torches in the woods, keep going. If there’s shouting after you, keep going. Don’t ever stop. Keep going. If you want a taste of freedom, keep going.”
